I have always thought the Subaru Baja was a cool car, but it, just like the XV Crosstreck, it was never given the engine it deserved. They did make a turbo version, but it was detuned to 210 bhp. I know that you can pretty easily swap engines across most Subarus, and a WRX/ STI swap would probably be entirely possible. After a quick Google search, I have found that some awesome people actually have done the swap. I have allways wanted a bugeye STI/ WRX but now I want one of these. (And so do you.)

Nope, nope, nope. The plastic trim, or just trim in general, around the bottom always left a horrid taste in my mouth.
Now an STi swapped Outback, that's something I can go for.

I've wanted one for a while. In black. With gold BBS wheels.

I like the idea of Suby transplants. Have one of these floating around my area. Even has a license plate of "STI TRUK"
Definitely a big fan.

A lowered Baja has to be the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Give it the STI swap and then take that thing offroad! I have been trying to convince a friend to buy a black Baja XT for months.

It wasn't detuned, all subarus with the TD-04 turbo in the US had about that same hp, including the old WRX's.

The WRX's of that era had about 230bhp.

No they didn't, I owned one. They had 225 hp at the crank which in an awd car is a little over 200hp. It wasn't until 2009 when they started putting the larger Vf52 IHI turbo in them that they got the bump to 265 hp at the crank.

Still though, whether its 230 or 225 (I think the official number was 227), Its still more than 210.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they make a Forester STi in Japan?

wiki says they introduced it in 2004 in Japan. Apparently the American XT or XTS has the detuned STI engine and can easily be brought back up. I'm sure the rest would be aesthetics, suspension, etc.
